Bucs sign second round pick DT PriceFootball Betting Lines07/20/2010 - Tampa, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed on a four-year contract with defensive tackle Brian Price, one of the team's 2010 second- round picks on Tuesday. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. "I'm glad my agent got the deal done, so now I can concentrate on having a great training camp. I'm looking forward to contributing to the Buccaneers' dominant defensive tradition," said Price. Price was taken with the 35th overall pick out of UCLA, where he earned Pac-10 Conference Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2009. He also claimed All Pac-10 accolades in '08 and '09. Over 35 games, including 30 starts spanning three years with the Bruins, Price registered 12 1/2 sacks, 97 tackles -- 44 1/2 for losses -- one interception and five forced fumbles. In other team news, the Buccaneers released guard Lee Grimes, who came to Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in early May.

Football Betting: Defensive Rookie of the Year AwardsOddsmakers have released the odds for the 2009 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry has been made the opening favorite. Seattle took Curry with the fourth overall pick in April's NFL draft and plan on inserting him into its starting lineup right away. The Hawks traded linebacker Julian Peterson in the offseason, so Curry is expected to have a significant role in Seattle's defense next year and that's one of the primary reasons he is the favorite to win the NFL ROY Award. Oddsmakers from online sportsbook MySportsbook.com have made Curry a 5/1 favorite to win this year's NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Given that he was the best defensive prospect in this year's draft and how he'll have plenty of opportunities to make plays in '09, Curry offers a ton of value at 5/1.
